Contents Page- Final (RESUBMISSION)

I have shown how I created my final contents page, I decided to use Publisher instead of Photoshop, not because Publisher is easier to use compared to Photoshop, but because I’d like to show that I can use a wide range of software’s whilst creating my magazine, and which each of these software’s different skills are require (more for photoshop since it’s more advanced).
Firstly, I decided to create my logo using FontSpace, which is a website where thousands of fonts are found, my main font feature was for it to be bold and large, for it to stand out so it can be read easily, I eventually found my font and that was going to be used for the title of the page. The backgound of the box is a light grey (close to white) so I decided to leave the font as black so that they complement each other, so this will essentially make it easier for the audience to read.

I used the transparent colour icon to remove the white background of the contents title, this has made that section of the contents page appear cleaner, I added the name of the issue of the top right, just to show that my magazine is a reoccurring magazine, so since I put it as Issue Feb, then that may indicate to the audience that it’s a monthly issue, I drew on some bold lines so that it can make the page appear more neater and also it will help me with what and where I should place certain things in my magazine.

I applied some new features in my contents page for instance, when first creating this version of my contents page, I use down ‘Issue Feb 2016’ I noticed that it didn’t really make any sense and it wasn’t clear that my magazine is reoccurring so I decided to change it to ‘Issue 9 | Feb 2016’ this makes it very clear that this isn’t the first issue.
I also added the logo of my magazine and a page number at the bottom right corner of the page, this shows that Afrovim has written it and it guides the audience what page it is because in some cases magazines don’t number the contents page and at the bottom left corner of my page I put logos of social media such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, this helps show my audience where else they can find us.
I did a semi-flat plan of my contents page, like I colour coded where I will add pictures and where I will add descriptions, this makes it easier for me to see whether everything will fit into the space I have and, it’ll help me with deciding whether the layout I have it fine.
The font I used were Berlin Sans FB for the title for instance ‘8| Afrobeats History’ I found this font bold and easy to read and not too simple as in it has a few touches on it for instance the letter S.
I had added short and brief summaries of what each article will be covering, I made them no more than 3 lines this is because I don’t want to reveal too much about the article before even reading it, and because my magazine is targeted to younger people, it’ll be less likely that they will read the summary, which is why I tried to make the title of the article more interesting so it attracts them into reading it.
